WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Miami University women's tennis team lost a 5-2 decision to the hosting Purdue Boilermakers on Monday morning as the 'Hawks continued their stretch of difficult road matches to start the season. Miami drops to 1-2 on the young season with the loss.
Miami was able to start off the match well, as the 'Hawks earned the doubles point to set themselves up with a 1-0 lead. After the RedHawks fell on court three, the
Brindtha Ramasamy and
Laura Rico took a 6-2 win on court one to level things up while
Milana Lysova and
Priyana Kalita clinched the point with a win at second doubles.
Despite the momentum gained by taking doubles, the Boilermakers would storm right back into the match in the singles session. In another match that featured solely straight-set decisions, Purdue took quick wins on courts one, three, and five before locking up with the victory with another win on court five. Miami was able to snag one more point after the match was decided when
