RedHawks Tied for Eighth at Bearcat Invitational

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Miami University golf team finished day one of the Bearcat Invitational in a tie for eighth place. The RedHawks shot an 11-over par 579 following a five-over par round of 289 and a six-over par round of 290. Louisville leads the team standings with a 36-hole score of 22-under par.
After two rounds, senior Jack Katarincic and junior Jack Mortell are the top golfers for Miami and are both currently tied for 20th at one-over par. Katarincic shot a two-over par round of 73 and a one-under par round or 70. Mortell shot rounds of 70 and 73. The current individual leader is John Murphy of Louisville at nine-under par.
Next for Miami is junior Charlie Nikitas who is tied for 32nd at three-over par. Nikitas shot a one-over par 72 and two-over par 73. Sophomore Jack Ebner shot rounds of 74 and 78 to end the day tied for 64th at 10-over par. Freshman Danny Fisher is tied for 68th at 12-over par following rounds of 80 and 74.
Redshirt sophomore Jack Herceg is competing as an individual and is also currently in a tie for 20th at one-over par. Herceg shot rounds of 71 and 72.
