OXFORD, Ohio – A strong possession game allowed the Miami soccer team to open exhibition play with a 1-0 win over Valparaiso on Monday afternoon.
Kristina DeMarco scored in the 64th minute as the RedHawks outshot the Crusaders by a 12-4 margin on the afternoon. A total of 17 players saw the field for the Red & White, six of whom recorded at least one shot.
Lauren Parker stopped both shots she faced while clocking 75:26 in goal while
Emily Boutin closed out the shutout by playing the final 14:34.
Miami resumes training camp the rest of this week and closes exhibition play at Eastern Kentucky on Sunday.
