The Miami University baseball team hits the road to rival Ohio for the annual "Battle of the Bricks" series this weekend. Friday's game begins at 6 p.m. Saturday's contest will start at 3 p.m., while Sunday's first pitch is at 1 p.m.

ABOUT OHIO
Ohio is 15-26 overall and 9-9 in the MAC. Last weekend it dropped two of three to Kent State on the road. The Golden Flashes took a 12-3 victory on Friday and an 18-11 win on Saturday before the Bobcats rebounded to win a 1-0 pitchers' duel on Sunday. Ohio's offense revolves around senior first baseman Rudy Rott. The reigning MAC Player of the Year is hitting .359 on the season (.418 in conference only play), with eight home runs and 32 RBIs. The Bobcats have strong starting pitching. Their Saturday starter this weekend, redshirt freshman Jack Liberatore has been among the most consistent. He is 5-4 with a 3.38 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 58.2 innings pitched this season.

SERIES WITH OHIO         
Ohio is Miami's most often played opponent in program history with 242 total meetings. The Bobcats hold a 130-111-1 lead in the all-time series. Last season the teams met in Oxford, April 27-29, 2018. The RedHawks dropped the first game, 4-3. Miami then rebounded to win on Saturday, 6-1, and Sunday, 4-2, to earn a series victory

UP AHEAD
The RedHawks have their final four home games of the season next week. It starts on Tuesday when they welcome rival Cincinnati to McKie Field at Hayden Park for a 5 p.m. contest. Next weekend, Miami hosts Western Michigan for a three-game series. The Friday, May 10 contest begins at 5 p.m., the Saturday, May 11 game will start at 4 p.m. and on Sunday, May 12 first pitch will be at 1 p.m. Prior to Sunday's game, the RedHawks will hold their Senior Day ceremonies.
