ABOUT THE JOE NUXHALL CLASSIC
The Joe Nuxhall Classic began in 2009 as a way to honor legendary Cincinnati Red Joe Nuxhall. Nuxhall first was the youngest player in major league history when he got into a game as a teenager in 1944. He then played for the Reds from 1952-60 and again from 1962-66. Immediately after retiring he embarked on a 40-year career as a broadcaster for the team from 1967-2006. He passed away in 2007. The same four teams have competed every year in the Nuxhall Classic, with the tournament rotating each year between Marge Schott Stadium in Cincinnati and McKie Field at Hayden Park in Oxford. Miami is the two-time defending champion in the tournament. In 2018, the RedHawks defeated Xavier, 6-5, in the semifinals before knocking off Cincinnati, 9-8, in the championship game.

ABOUT WRIGHT STATE
The Raiders have had a strong season, currently holding a record of 21-10. They dropped two out of three at Northern Kentucky in their last action this past weekend. Wright State has a prolific offense and is one of the few opponents that Miami has faced that has scored more runs than the RedHawks this season. Four regulars hit above .300, led by redshirt junior outfielder Peyton Burdick. He ranks 18th in the country with a .418 batting average and also has six home runs and 36 RBIs.

Trailing 1-0 entering the bottom of the seventh, the RedHawks scored one in the seventh and three in the eighth to take the lead. The Raiders got two back in the top of the ninth, but Miami was able to hold on for a 4-3 win.

ABOUT CINCINNATI
Cincinnati is 13-17 so far this season. It is coming off a series win, having taken two out of three over 22nd-ranked Connecticut on the road. The Bearcats are led by senior outfielder AJ Bumpass. He is hitting .255 with three home runs and 16 RBIs.

On April 11, 2018 in Oxford, Miami won the Nuxhall Classic with a 9-8 victory. Trailing 8-7 in the bottom of the ninth, Hayden Senger drove in the tying run. Later in frame a fielder's choice groundout by Will Vogelgesang allowed Senger to come home for the walk off win. On May 1, 2018 again in Oxford, the RedHawks took a 7-2 win.
