The Miami University baseball team has a pair of midweek games this week. On Tuesday, the RedHawks travel down to Xavier for a rematch against the Musketeers that will begin at 3 p.m. On Wednesday, Miami welcomes Ohio State to McKie Field at Hayden Park. First pitch is at 5 p.m. and it will air live on RedHawks All-Access for those who have a subscription.
ABOUT XAVIER
The Musketeers are 19-24 overall and 9-2 in the Big East. They are coming off a series win at Creighton last weekend. They took the opener on Friday, 8-1. They then split a doubleheader on Sunday, falling 5-0 before taking a 3-1 victory in the nightcap. Xavier has some players who can hit, led by junior infielder Conor Grammes. He is hitting .315 with six home runs and 20 RBIs. As a team, the Musketeers have 38 home runs in 2019. They will have sophomore left hander Nick Zwack on the mound on Tuesday. He is 3-2 with a 6.28 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 38.2 innings pitched this season.
SERIES WITH XAVIER
Miami holds a 90-52-2 all-time lead in the series with Xavier. The Musketeers have won four of the past five meetings however. That includes a 13-4 victory last Tuesday in their first meeting of the season in Oxford. Xavier came out swinging early, putting up two runs in the first and four in the sixth to build a 6-0 lead. It put the game away with seven runs in the top of the sixth. Junior second baseman
Landon Stephens went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored for the RedHawks.
ABOUT OHIO STATE
The Buckeyes are 24-20 overall and 7-8 in the Big Ten. Last weekend they dropped two out of three at home to Iowa, falling 4-2 and 11-4 in the first two games. They rebounded to win the series finale Sunday, 5-1. Ohio State is a power-hitting team that ranks 34th in the country with 46 total home runs. It is led by junior outfielder Dominic Canzone. He is hitting .367 with 12 home runs and 33 RBIs this season. Pitching for the Buckeyes on Wednesday will be freshman Will Pfennig. He is 0-2 with a 5.35 ERA in 18 appearances (two starts). He has 36 strikeouts in 38.2 innings pitched.
SERIES WITH OHIO STATE
Ohio State holds a 29-15 lead in the all-time series with Miami. This is the first meeting since the Buckeyes visited Oxford on May 5, 2015. OSU took a 20-7 victory in that contest. The RedHawks last beat Ohio State, 3-1, on May 6, 2014 in Columbus.

This weekend, the Red and White travel to Ohio for a three-game series with the rival Bobcats. The game on Friday will begin at 6 p.m. The Saturday game starts at 4 p.m. and Sunday first pitch will be at 1 p.m.
