OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University softball team (26-14, 11-4 MAC) beat Buffalo (9-29-1, 6-7-1 MAC) by a 3-2 margin on Sunday to wrap up the three-game series and earn the RedHawks' second conference sweep of the season.

Miami 3, Buffalo 2

Brianna Pratt started the game in the circle for the RedHawks. She pitched two innings, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk. Pratt struck out two batters.
Courtney Vierstra came into the game to relieve Pratt at the start of the third inning. Vierstra pitched the remaining five innings, giving up no runs on one hit and no walks while striking out 11 batters.

Buffalo scored two in the top of the first to take an early 2-0 lead. The first two batters walked and singled to put runners on first and second with nobody out. A single drove the first run in from second. A groundout advanced the runners to second and third. A third single scored the second run. A batter was hit by a pitch to load the bases with one out but Pratt struck out two-straight batters to keep the score at 2-0.

The Bulls held the 2-0 lead until the bottom of the sixth inning when Miami got onto the scoreboard. Johniann Wahl hit a one-out single and was pinch run for by Riley Coyne. Kara Leckinger hit a two-out single and was pinch run for by Zoe Bishop. With two out and runners on first and second, Lily Wilmot hit her fourth home run of the season to give the RedHawks a 3-2 lead.
