Sirmans Finalizes Freshman Class

The RedHawks will bring eight freshmen and a transfer goalkeeper to campus this fall.
OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University head soccer coach Courtney Sirmans has finalized her incoming class of student-athletes for this fall.
After initially announcing five signees in November, Sirmans has bumped the incoming freshman class to eight student-athletes while also adding a transfer to the mix for the 2019 season. Joining the RedHawks in the fall are Riley Balconi (Novi, Mich./Novi), Abby Casmere (Downers Grove, Ill./Benet Academy), Elle Gill (Greenwood Village, Colo./Cherry Creek), Kennedy Gray (Grande Prairie, Albert/Paul Kane), Keara Kerr (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township), Bronwen Sears, Emily Sexton (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley), Maddie Stafford (Medina, Ohio/Medina) and Izzie Vaccari (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman/Fairmont State).
"We are thrilled with the nine additions to the team this fall," Sirmans said. "My staff and I are confident that these new faces will be able to help raise the standards of our program moving forward! The current team has worked extremely hard this spring to solidify what it means to be a RedHawk women's soccer player. August can't come soon enough!"

High School/Club: Earned three letters in soccer and also played a year of basketball … also played club for the Michigan Jaguars … helped high school team win a state title in 2018 along with another district title in 2017 … part of a Michigan State Cup winner in 2018 … helped club team qualify for nationals, where it advanced to the semifinals in 2017 … earned all-conference honorable mention once … member of the National Honor Society and named a KLAA Scholar Athlete.

High School/Club: Picked up four letters in soccer along with two each in volleyball and softball … played club for Crown City United … earned league MVP honors in 2016 while landing on the all-league first team in 2017 … named league Defensive Player of the Year in 2018 … tabbed a California Scholarship Federation Seal Bearer.

High School/Club: Earned four letters in soccer … played club for Joga Bonito SC … helped high school reach super sectionals round in 2018 … earned honorable mention all-area … member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society … three-year honor roll student.

High School/Club: Four-year starter and two-year captain for Cherry Creek … plays club with ECNL Rapids … helped high school team go undefeated as a sophomore while setting a school record in scoring … two-time all-state performer who earned first-team honors in 2018 … named three-time all-league three times … also spent one year playing volleyball in high school as an outside hitter … named academic all-state in 2018.

High School/Club: Multi-sport athlete who also competed in volleyball, basketball and track & field in her high school career … played for the Sherwood Park Phoenix club team … helped the U17 Sherwood Park Phoenix earn city championships in 2017 and 2018 … participated in the U17 Canadian Women's EXCEL National Camp in 2017 … guided team to Alberta provincial titles in 2017 and 2018 with corresponding sixth and fifth-place finishes in the 2017 and 2018 Canadian Toyota National Championships … earned Standard of Excellence awards in grades 10 and 11.

High School/Club: Earned four letters in soccer … played for FC United club … netted nine goals as a sophomore and 12 goals as a junior at Evanston Township High School … earned all-conference honors in her sophomore year and all-sectional accolades as a junior … played at the 2018 Red Stars Naperville Invitational Tournament, earning Second-Team All-Tournament honors … earned academic honors all four years of high school.
