The Miami University baseball team continues its road trip as it travels to Bowling Green for a three-game set this weekend. Friday's game will begin at 3:05 p.m., Saturday's will start at 1:05 p.m. and Sunday's first pitch is at 1:05 p.m.
ABOUT BOWLING GREEN
The Falcons are 12-16 overall and 5-4 in the MAC. They dropped two out of three at Eastern Michigan last weekend, but rebounded with a 10-4 win over Purdue Fort Wayne in their midweek game on Wednesday. Bowling Green is a small-ball team that only has four home runs, but still has a .266 team batting average on the season. Its top hitter has been senior infielder Brad Croy. He is batting .348 with one home run and 16 RBIs. The Falcons have had a strong bullpen and a new pitching ace in sophomore right hander Andrew Abrahamowicz. The Nebraska transfer, who the RedHawks will see on Friday, is 2-2 with a 1.56 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 40.1 innings pitched.
SERIES WITH BOWLING GREEN
Miami holds a 99-65 lead in the all-time series with Bowling Green. The RedHawks took two out of three last year in their series in Oxford, April 6-8, 2018. Miami opened things up with a 7-0 shutout on Friday.
Spencer Mraz allowed only four hits in 7.0 innings to get the win. The Falcons scored three runs in the top of the ninth in Saturday's game to earn a come from behind, 10-9 victory. The RedHawks used a five-run fourth inning to take an 8-5 victory on Sunday and win the series.
UP AHEAD
The RedHawks return to Cincinnati next Tuesday to take on the Bearcats in a midweek game. First pitch is at 6 p.m. Miami welcomes Ball State to McKie Field at Hayden Park next weekend for a key three-game MAC series. The game on Friday, April 19 begins at 5 p.m., and is the RedHawks' annual Walter "Smokey" Alston night. On Saturday, April 20, the game will start at 4 p.m., while on Sunday, April 21, first pitch is at 1 p.m.
