OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University softball team (20-13, 5-3 MAC) shut out Bowling Green (15-20, 3-7 MAC) by a 2-0 margin on Wednesday to sweep the series – Miami's first MAC series sweep of the season.

Brianna Pratt was Miami's starter in the circle. She pitched four innings, giving up no runs on three hits and one walk while striking out six batters.
Courtney Vierstra came into the game as relief to start the fifth inning. She earned her fourth save of the season, allowing no runs on one hit and one walk while striking out seven.
Pratt struck out the side to start the game.
Morgan Lott had the first hit of the game but was left on second after a stolen base.
Miami struck first with a run in the top of the third.
Kara Leckinger was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.
Riley Coyne came into the game to pinch run. Coyne advanced all the way to third on a sacrifice bunt by
Adriana Barlow and scored on a single from
Haeley Tran. Lott singled on a bunt and advanced to second on the throw that saw Tran safe at third. The runners were left on second and third.
Jenny Vasquez led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run, her seventh of the season.
Jada Dotson and Leckinger each singled but were stranded on second and third to end the inning with a 2-0 lead for Miami.
Vierstra struck out three batters in her first inning of the day in the fifth.
Pratt and Vierstra combined for the shutout in the circle. Tran and Vasquez each went 1-of-3 with an RBI on the game, with Vasquez hitting a home run. Lott went 2-of-2 with a walk and two stolen bases.

Miami travels to Kent for a three-game series this weekend. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
