ABOUT EASTERN MICHIGAN
The Eagles are 5-19-1 overall and 0-3 in the MAC. While they have struggled at times this season, they got a pair of wins in midweek games this past week, defeating Northwestern Ohio 13-7 on Tuesday and Concordia 11-6 on Wednesday. They were swept in a three-game series at Northern Illinois to open MAC play last weekend. Eastern Michigan's top hitter has been junior infielder Zachary Owings. He is batting .343 with three home runs and 19 RBIs. Its top pitcher will be its Friday starter, sophomore lefty Scott Granzotto. He is 2-4 with a 4.13 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 28.1 innings in 2019.
SERIES WITH EASTERN MICHIGAN
Eastern Michigan holds a slim, 60-57, lead in the all-time series with Miami. Last year in Ypsilanti, the RedHawks took two out of three against the Eagles. It started on Friday when the Red and White turned a 3-1 ninth inning deficit into a 4-3, 11-inning victory. Miami then took a 3-1 win on Saturday. The Eagles salvaged the final game, defeating the RedHawks 4-0 on Sunday.
