Miami will host the Blizzard Buster on Saturday.
OXFORD, Ohio - After a few weeks off following the conclusion of the 2019 indoor season, the Miami University track and field team will head outdoors for the Miami Blizzard Buster this Saturday at the George L. Rider Track in Oxford.
The meet will kick off at 9 a.m. Saturday morning for the beginning of the day's field events, starting with the women's hammer and men's javelin. Things will get underway on the track at 10:30 as the women's 5000m will serve as the first event in a full day of track action. The meet will run throughout the rest of the morning and early afternoon, with the men's 4x400 relay bringing the meet to a close at 4:25 p.m.
The full event schedule is linked above.
The RedHawks will bring athletes from ten different schools to Oxford to compete Saturday, as Xavier, Northern Kentucky, Bowling Green, Eastern Kentucky, Otterbein, Shawnee State, Marian University, Tiffin, Lake Superior State, and Cincinnati Christian will all be in attendance. The full list of athletes from each school can be found in the heat sheet linked above.
The 'Hawks will enter the meet looking to build upon an indoor season in which the Miami women finished 10th at the Mid-American Conference Championship. The RedHawk men will compete as a full squad for the first time this year, although several men's athletes saw action in the indoor portion of the year. This includes Kenny Glenn, Jeremiah Hunter, Aaron Muresan, Sean Torpy, and Christopher Torpy who all competed at the senior-level USATF Indoor National Track and Field Championships back in February.
After the Blizzard Buster Saturday, the RedHawks will send athletes to North Carolina State's Raleigh Relays on March 29 and 30.
