ABOUT EASTERN KENTUCKY
The Colonels are 11-8 on the season. They had a tough opening weekend of Ohio Valley Conference play in their last action, dropping all three games to preseason OVC favorite Morehead State. Prior to facing the RedHawks on Wednesday, EKU has the challenging task of hosting fourth-ranked Louisville on Tuesday. A strong offensive team, the Colonels are hitting .289 on the season. Junior outfielder Nick Howie leads the way. He is hitting .394 with five home runs and 17 RBIs in 2019.
SERIES WITH EASTERN KENTUCKY
Miami holds a 17-15 lead in the all-time series with Eastern Kentucky. This is the first meeting between the schools since the Colonels came away with a 6-5 victory in Oxford on April 29, 2015.
WEEKLY PRESS CONFERENCE
After another perfect week and with MAC play looming, head coach
Danny Hayden held his weekly press conference on Tuesday. He discussed the team's play in its sweep of St. Bonaventure and also emphasized that the RedHawks are by no means a finished product yet. The entire video can be seen above.
NOTABLE
The RedHawks' 15-3 record ties the best start for a Miami team through 18 games. The 1983 team also was 15-3 on the way to a 36-15 record and a MAC Tournament championship.

The RedHawks begin Mid-American Conference play this weekend as they travel to defending MAC Champion and preseason favorite Kent State. The game on Friday will begin at 4 p.m., on Saturday it will be at 3 p.m. and it will conclude on Sunday with first pitch at 1 p.m.
