OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University baseball team earned a series sweep and their 12th straight victory with an 8-0 shutout of St. Bonaventure on Sunday. The RedHawks improve to 15-3 overall, while the Bonnies fall to 1-9.
The RedHawk pitching staff allowed only three hits on the day in earning its first shutout of the season. Not a single SBU baserunner got past second base. Senior pitcher Jack Corbell started and allowed only two hits and two walks while striking out three in 6.0 innings pitched to improve to 3-0 on the season. A fielding error on a grounder by redshirt freshman second baseman Reid Norberg scored Harrigan and Williams and made it 6-0.
The RedHawks made it 7-0 in the bottom of the third when Norberg singled home Williams. Miami completed scoring in the bottom of the fifth when a sac fly by Tejada allowed junior catcher Cal Elvers to reach home plate.
Harrigan finished the game 2-for-5 with two RBIs and one run scored. Williams was 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored.
