Miami Faces No. 2 Ohio in MAC Semifinals

The RedHawks and Bobcats tip-off 30 minutes following the 11 a.m. game on Friday.

ON TAP: Miami (23-7, 13-5 MAC) faces No. 2 Ohio in the MAC Semifinals on Friday, 30 minutes following the conclusion of the 11 a.m. game. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ as well as Miami College Sports Live and RedHawk Radio.

LAST TIME OUT: The No. 3 RedHawks beat No. 6 Toledo by a 72-54 margin in the MAC Quarterfinals on Wednesday inside Quicken Loans Arena. Lauren Dickerson and Savannah Kluesner each had a 20-point game. This is Dickerson's 10th game of the season passing 20 points while it's Kluesner's sixth. Leah Purvis also scored in double figures with 13 points. Miami led the entire game, though it was a one or two possession game for a good portion of the first half.

ABOUT OHIO: The Bobcats (26-4, 14-4 MAC) beat No. 7 Northern Illinois by a 72-56 margin in the MAC Quarterfinals on Wednesday. Ohio had four players reach double figures against Northern Illinois. Erica Johnson led the team with a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 boards. Gabby Burris, Cece Hooks and Amani Burke also scored in double figures, tallying 18, 16 and 12 points, respectively. The Bobcats are on a four-game winning streak after ending February with a 43-73 loss against Buffalo. All five of Ohio's end of the season starters averaged double figures this season, led by Hooks' 17.4 points per game. Johnson leads in rebounding with 6.4 per game.

SERIES WITH THE BOBCATS: Miami leads the all-time series with Ohio 57-33 overall and 7-1 at neutral sites. The teams most recently met on March 6 in Oxford, where the Bobcats held on for the 70-66 win, breaking the RedHawks' four-game winning streak in the series. Miami came all the way back from a 23-point deficit at the half to tie the game twice in the fourth quarter. Dickerson and Levering combined for 32 points, all in the second half. Dickerson had a team-high 18 points, while Kristen Levering added 14 points and eight rebounds. Purvis and Kluesner joined the double-figure scorers with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Kluesner added 12 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season. Miami and Ohio met in the 2018 MAC Quarterfinals. The RedHawks earned the 69-66 victory. Dickerson scored 23 points and Kluesner picked up a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

LOOKING AHEAD: The winner of this game advances to the MAC Championship game and will play the winner of the No. 1 Central Michigan/No. 4 Buffalo MAC Semifinal matchup. Tip-off for the MAC Championship game is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
