The Miami University baseball team hosts St. Bonaventure for its final non-conference series before beginning Mid-American Conference play. Friday's game will start at 5 p.m. Saturday's game will begin at 4 p.m. The finale on Sunday will have a first pitch of 1 p.m.
ABOUT ST. BONAVENTURE
The Bonnies are 1-6 on the season. A school based in New York, they did not begin their season until March 2 when they took a spring break trip to Florida. All seven of the games they have played so far took place on that trip. Redshirt senior outfielder Alex Schutz is hitting .419 with one home run and five RBIs. Projected Saturday starter, sophomore Braydon Nelson is 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 13.1 innings pitched.
SERIES WITH ST. BONAVENTURE
These will be the first-ever meetings between Miami and St. Bonaventure.
WINNING STERAK NOTE
Miami has won nine games in a row, matching a nine-game winning streak it recorded from Feb. 24-March 11, 2018. The last time the RedHawks had a longer win streak was from March 21-April 1, 2007 when they won 10 in a row. Miami's longest win streak in school history is when it opened the season with 14 straight wins from March 11-29, 1983.
UP AHEAD
Miami hits the road next Wednesday for a midweek game at Eastern Kentucky that will begin at 4 p.m. The opening of Mid-American Conference play begins next weekend as the RedHawks travel to defending MAC Champion Kent State for a three-game series, March 22-24. Friday's game begins at 4 p.m. Saturday's starts at 3 p.m. and Sunday's first pitch is at 1 p.m.
