Baseball Travels to NKU Wednesday

Game 15
Miami RedHawks (11-3) at Northern Kentucky Norse (1-11)
Wednesday, March 13 – 3 p.m.
Bill Aker Baseball Complex – Highland Heights, Ky.

ON TAP
The Miami University baseball team has its first midweek game of the season as it makes the quick trip down to NKU to take on the Norse on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.

ABOUT NORTHERN KENTUCKY
The Norse are 1-11 this season, but have played a tough schedule that has featured three different SEC schools. This past weekend they were swept in a three-game series at Alabama. Against that top level competition, NKU has only been able to score 35 runs in 12 games in 2019. A bright spot has been freshman infielder Noah Fisher, who is batting .279 with two home runs and three RBIs.

SERIES WITH NORTHERN KENTUCKY
Miami holds a 19-3 lead in the all-time series with NKU. The RedHawks won all three meetings with the Norse last season, which were played as a weekend series, March 9-11, 2018. The first two games were played in Oxford, with Miami taking 2-0 and 10-2 victories. Playing the final game down in Highland Heights, Kentucky, the Norse rallied to force extra innings, but a two-run single in the top of the 10th allowed the RedHawks to come away with an 11-9 win.

WEEKLY PRESS CONFERENCE
Miami upped its winning streak to eight games with a four-game sweep of Youngstown State this past weekend. In this week's press conference, head coach Danny Hayden looked back at those games and also explain how important it is to make sure complacency does not set in. He then looked ahead to both the NKU game, as well as the St. Bonaventure series this coming weekend. For the full interview with Hayden, watch the video above.

UP AHEAD
The RedHawks return home to host St. Bonaventure this weekend for their final non-conference series. The game on Friday, March 15 will begin at 5 p.m., on Saturday, March 16 it will be at 4 p.m. and it will conclude on Sunday, March 17 with first pitch at 1 p.m.
