Mackay Williams Named MAC Player of the Week

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly baseball awards on Tuesday. For Miami, senior outfielder Mackay Williams was named MAC Player of the Week. It is the first weekly honor of his RedHawk career.
Williams had a fantastic weekend in leading Miami to a four-game sweep of Youngstown State. He had seven hits in the four games, four of which went for extra bases. Williams started things off by going 3-for-4 with two runs scored on Friday. In the doubleheader on Sunday, he went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored in the 9-1 win. He had a double and a home run in that game. In the nightcap, Williams went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Both of his hits were base clearing triples and he also drew a pair of walks. Williams had an on-base percentage of .625 for the week and an incredible slugging percentage of 1.154. His slugging percentage was 2.000 in the doubleheader on Sunday.
The RedHawks return to action Wednesday when they travel to Northern Kentucky for a midweek game. First pitch is at 3 p.m.
