BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Miami University women's basketball team (17-4, 8-2 MAC) beat Bowling Green (7-14, 0-10 MAC) by an 82-75 margin on Saturday.
Lauren Dickerson led the RedHawks' offense with 31 points, scoring 17 in the fourth quarter, and tying her season-high six three-pointers.
Savannah Kluesner and
Leah Purvis also reached double figures, scoring 16 and 12, respectively.
Kristen Levering pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds.
Kendall McCoy hit a three-pointer on the first possession of the game.

After a layup by Bowling Green, Miami jumped out to a 10-2 lead with 6:45 to play in the first quarter on a couple of baskets by McCoy and Kluesner and Dickerson's first three-pointer of the game.

The Falcons scored twice to cut Miami's lead to 10-6 before Dickerson and Purvis sunk back-to-back three-pointers to increase the RedHawks' lead to 16-8 with 4:31 to play in the first quarter.

Bowling Green went on a 9-5 run to end the first quarter and cut Miami's lead to 21-17 after 10 minutes of play. Four of BG's points during the run came from free throws. The RedHawks shot 50 percent from both the floor and three-point range during the first quarter.
The Falcons opened the second quarter with a 6-0 run to take its first lead of the ball game, 23-21, with 7:46 remaining in the first half. Miami scored a pair of baskets to take the 25-23 lead and then the 28-26 lead with 5:24 to play in the second quarter on a three-pointer from Dickerson.

Bowling Green went on a 12-2 run over the next three minutes of play to take a 38-30 lead with 2:08 remaining in the first half. Neither team made a field goal in the last two minutes as free throws gave the Falcons a 42-33 lead going into the locker room.
Miami put together a 14-2 run to start the second half, holding Bowling Green without a field goal until 4:41 to play in the third quarter. Included in the 14-2 run were back-to-back three-pointers from Purvis as she made a total of three during the game.

Dickerson gave Miami its first lead since the first half with her fourth three-pointer of the game with six minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Miami held a 47-44 lead midway through the third quarter after a pair of free throws from Levering. Bowling Green answered with three-straight baskets to take a 50-47 lead with 3:19 to play in the third quarter. The Falcons made six free throws in the final two minutes of the quarter to hang on to a 56-54 lead after 30 minutes of play.
Kenzie Schmitz tied the game at 56 to start the fourth quarter. After Bowling Green tied the game at 58 a minute later, Dickerson completed a three-point play to give Miami a 61-58 lead with 8:35 remaining.

The Falcons tied the game again at 63 with seven minutes to play and took three leads in the next two minutes of play as the RedHawks would not back down. Kluesner fouled out midway through the fourth quarter after scoring 16 points.
With Miami trailing 67-70 and just under five minutes to play, Dickerson took the game into her hands. Dickerson scored the next 12 points on the floor for either team to give Miami a 79-70 lead with 1:13 remaining. Of her five shots made during the stretch, two were from behind the arc.

Bowling Green scored two quick baskets to cut Miami's lead to 79-75 with under a minute to play. Purvis made three from the line to cap scoring at 82-75 and seal the RedHawks' victory.
Miami hosts Northern Illinois on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
