Miami’s collegiate team won yet another meet while senior took fourth in Croatia.
ZAGREB, Croatia/DEARBORN, Mich. – The Miami synchronized skating program split up for what were a pair of competitions before nationals.
On the collegiate side, the RedHawks won the Tri-State Championship by double digits as their Glam-themed skate earned a score of 94.6, their second-best mark of the season. It also represented the third time in five meets that MU cracked the 90-point barrier.
"We had a clean skate with good energy," assistant coach Lee Ann Shoker said. "We improved our technical score by four points this week and we still have room to improve before the national championships!"
Overseas, the RedHawks' senior program finished its final international competition at the Zagreb Snowflakes Trophy. MU's Tango-themed free skate scored a 112.12, giving the Red & White a two-day total of 172.02 to finish in fourth.
Miami's next competition comes at the US National Championships March 1-2. Prior to that, the RedHawks will perform their routines for the home fans at Goggin on Feb. 24 in their nationals send-off exhibition.
