Miami Begins Four-Game Home Stand Against Evansville Sunday

The RedHawks host the Aces for heroes day at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

ON TAP: Miami (5-5) returns home on Sunday to begin a four-game home stand. The RedHawks host Evansville with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m. Fans can listen to the game on The Miami Sports Network from Van Wagner and watch on ESPN3.

HEROES DAY: Heroes will be honored at Sunday's game and will be admitted for free. All guests accompanying a hero will be able to purchase tickets for $3 apiece at the ticket window. Following the game, there will be open court play as all fans are welcome to play at their own risk.

LAST TIME OUT: The RedHawks held off Pittsburgh's second-half push on the road to come away with an 80-71 victory on Tuesday to wrap up road non-conference play. Peyton Scott led Miami's offense with a career-high 24 points while Savannah Kluesner recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Lauren Dickerson and Monique Esbrand also scored in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively. Dickerson leads the RedHawks' offense this season with 16.8 points per game while Kluesner leads Miami on the boards with 8.4 rebounds per game.
 
ABOUT EVANSVILLE: The Aces enter the game with a 3-7 record. Evansville dominated a winless Chicago State team by a 76-42 margin on Wednesday. Scoring for the Aces was spread throughout the roster as all 12 players to see the floor scored points. A'Niah Griffin led the way with 14 points while Jada Poland was one rebound shy of a double-double. Lola Bracy leads Evansville's offense this season with 16.7 points per game despite only playing three games so far while Abby Feit leads the Aces with 8.3 rebounds per game. Feit is also averaging 15.1 points per game.
 
SERIES WITH THE ACES: Miami and Evansville have played each other only two times before, with each team winning its home game. On December 6, 2014, the Aces won in Evansville by a 51-41 margin. The RedHawks claimed a 91-85 victory in double overtime inside Millett Hall on November 16, 2015.

LOOKING AHEAD: The RedHawks wrap up the non-conference schedule on New Year's Eve, hosting Tiffin. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside Millett Hall as Miami celebrates camper reunion day.
