The Kentucky Invite will run from Friday to Sunday.
OXFORD, Ohio - One last tournament this weekend is set to round out Miami's fall tennis schedule as the RedHawks head to Lexington for the Kentucky Invite from Friday, Nov. 1 to Sunday, Nov. 3.
Matches will take place at the Top Seed Tennis Club, with play beginning each day at 9 a.m. with doubles sessions. Two rounds of singles matches follow doubles each day.
The RedHawks will be one of six teams in attendance. In addition to the host Wildcats, Penn State, Virginia Tech, DePaul, and Utah will also be in the Bluegrass State to comprise what should be a good season-ending test for the 'Hawks.
The Kentucky Invite will follow a hidden dual format, where each team is paired with another each session for three doubles matches/six singles matches. On Friday, Miami will play doubles against DePaul to begin the morning, followed by singles matches against Virginia Tech. The Hokies will be MU's doubles opponent on Saturday, and then the RedHawks will turn around and face Utah in singles. The weekend will conclude with the 'Hawks playing the Utes and doubles and Penn State in singles on Sunday.
This weekend wraps up a busy fall slate for the RedHawks, who have already had a presence at seven other events over the last two months. Miami's last event was the ITA Ohio Valley Regional, where the RedHawks turned in several impressive runs across the tournament.
Miami will then turn its attention towards preparation for the spring regular season; look for a full schedule release in the coming weeks.
