Fall Season Closes in Kentucky for Miami Tennis

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Miami University tennis team brought its busy 2019 fall schedule to a close Sunday as the RedHawks wrapped up three days of play at the University of Kentucky,

In a field full of power-conference opponents, Brindtha Ramasamy led Miami with a perfect 3-0 weekend in singles competition. She defeated opponents from Virginia Tech and Utah in clean straight-set fashion on Friday and Saturday, and followed that up with a three-set win over Penn State's Frederikke Svarre on Sunday.

Makenzie Myers also had a successful weekend, posting a pair of wins over Virginia Tech and Utah over the first two days. Lena Babunski, Priyana Kalita, Melati Devi, Milana Lysova, and Laura Rico all got in the win column as well over the three day tournament.

Miami fielded several different doubles combinations on the weekend. The tandem of Rico and Babunski was the most successful for the 'Hawks as they earned a pair of victories during the weekend. Myers/Devi and Ramasamy/Kalita also picked up wins.

The RedHawks will now turn towards preparing for the 2020 spring season which will kick off in January; a full schedule release will be announced shortly.
