OXFORD, Ohio – Following a brief foray at home, the Miami soccer team heads back on the road with a single non-conference tilt this weekend.
The RedHawks (2-2-1) look to extend their three-match unbeaten streak when they take on Lipscomb on Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m. ET.
Miami pulled out a pair of one-goal victories at home last weekend, shutting out Illinois State 1-0 and posting a 2-1 comeback win over Evansville. The RedHawks have had five players score all five of their goals thus far, all but one of which have come in the second half.
Jordan King has assisted on three of MU's five tallies thus far, including two of the team's three strikes last weekend.
Patricia Koutoulas improved her overall stat line to a 1.34 goals against average and a .750 save percentage.
Lipscomb enters play this week sporting a 3-1-2 record and it will also play a contest at Northern Kentucky on Thursday. The Lady Bisons notched a 1-1 tie at Western Kentucky last Friday while also toppling Chattanooga by a 3-0 count. Riley Henry's four goals lead the team while Olivia Doak is tied for the team lead with eight points. Kate Mason has logged every second in goal and holds an impressive 0.62 goals against average with an .862 save percentage and two shutouts.

All-Time Series: Sunday will be Miami's first ever match against Lipscomb.
Scoring Balance: Miami has spread out its scoring to this point while breaking in a freshman heavy lineup. Five different players have scored Miami's five goals this season, three of which have been freshmen. Nine of Miami's 16 points (3 goals, 3 assists) have been contributed by its freshman class.
Possession Breakthrough: While tough competition on opening weekend skewed the numbers a bit, Miami was looking to improve its possession game after being outshot 56-13 over the first three contests. That improvement came in its home wins over Illinois State and Evansville, combining for 29 shot attempts and holding a 29-19 edge in shots.
Slow Starts: The RedHawks hope to get out of the gates a little faster as it has allowed the first goal in all four of five contests. Miami has fought back to answer an opening score in three of those outings, including a 2-1 comeback win over Evansville on Sept. 2, but has been outscored 6-1 overall in the first half in the early going this season. The RedHawks have outscored opponents 4-1 in the second half.
Search for Scoring: Offense has been hard to come by for the Red & White the last few seasons and last year saw them score just nine goals in their 18 contests, six fewer than their previous low mark for a season. A good amount of the freshmen were brought in to address the team's attack as it looks to reverse a trend of being unable to find the net with promising results thus far.
