Miami On The Road Against Central Michigan

The RedHawks continue conference play with a single game this weekend.
OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University field hockey team travels to Central Michigan to continue conference play. On Friday, the RedHawks and Chippewas face off at 4 p.m.
Miami recorded two shutout wins last weekend. On Saturday, the RedHawks shutout Kent State by a 3-0 margin while only allowing two shots and only one of those being on goal. On Sunday, Miami earned its second-straight shutout and fifth of the season in a 5-0 route of Indiana, limiting the Hoosiers to only two shots and one penalty corner.

ABOUT CENTRAL MICHIGAN: The Chippewas currently hold a 1-11 overall record on the season with their victory coming as a shutout against Saint Louis. Last weekend, Central Michigan fell to UC Davis before losing to Ohio in its second conference game of the season. The Chippewa roster includes six different goal scorers and 10 players that have registered at least one point.
SERIES WITH CENTRAL MICHIGAN: Miami owns the 40-28 lead in the all-time series with Central Michigan. In 2017, the RedHawks shut out the Chippewas by a 4-0 margin with goals coming from Portugal (3) and Nugent.
UP AHEAD: Miami is on the road again next weekend, continuing conference play against Longwood on Saturday, Oct. 6 at noon before taking on No. 7 Virginia on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m.
