The alumnae will each coach during the 2018-19 season.
OXFORD, Ohio – Jordan Clark (McElroy) ('12) and Eryn McCarver ('17) will both be coaching this upcoming season. Clark will serve as an assistant coach at Ohio State under former Miami coach Kelly Kovach Schoenly. McCarver will be Valpo's graduate assistant coach.
Clark moves to Ohio State after being the volunteer coach at Arkansas for the past three seasons. At Arkansas, Clark helped the team to two NCAA Tournament berths, including a Super Regional appearance, as well as the third most wins (42) in a season in program history in 2018 and a new record for home wins in a single season (27). Clark was the first-base coach and worked with the outfielders and running.
At Miami, Clark was coached by Kovach Schoenly from 2009-12. The two-time MAC Champion is tied for second in Miami program history in at bats (685), fourth in runs (114), sixth in hits (203) and seventh in walks (64). In 2009, Clark was named to the MAC All-Freshman Team and All-MAC Second Team. In 2010, she was named to the MAC All-Tournament Team. Clark won the MAC's Nan Harvey Sportsmanship Award in 2012.
McCarver joins the Valpo staff after a season as a volunteer coach for Cal State Fullerton, where she helped them to a Big West championship and an appearance in the Los Angeles regional championship game in the NCAA Tournament.
At Miami, McCarver earned four letters, mostly as the RedHawks' starter at second base. She helped Miami win the MAC Tournament and advance to the NCAA Tournament in 2016.
