The RedHawks take on the Hilltoppers on Sunday.
OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami soccer team's season-opening three-match road stretch concludes when it heads to Western Kentucky on Sunday. Opening kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
Opening weekend saw MU (0-2) compete at the Hoosier Challenge Cup against Big Ten foes Northwestern and Indiana. The Red & White dropped a 2-1 decision to the Wildcats on opening night and fell, 3-0, to the Hoosiers on Sunday. Lydia Brosnahan and Patricia Koutoulas were both placed on the All-Tournament Team following the weekend slate.
The Lady Toppers are off to an 0-2 start to the season after getting shut out on the road against Murray State (1-0) and Ole Miss (4-0). WKU got outshot 36-16 in its two contests. Bailee Witt played in both contests, logging all but 7:55 in goal and stopped 10 of 15 shots.

All-Time Series: Miami has faced Western Kentucky twice and won both meetings, pulling off a 4-0 win in 2015 and a 3-2 overtime victory in 2015.
Fresh Faces: A lot of fresh faces are dotting the Miami soccer roster as 13 of its 27 players are freshmen and collectively there are just seven combined juniors and seniors. The RedHawks' newcomers got playing time on opening weekend with freshmen comprising eight of the 17 field players who saw minutes against Northwestern and Indiana.
Search for Scoring: Offense has been hard to come by for the Red & White the last few seasons and last year saw them score just nine goals in their 18 contests, six fewer than their previous low mark for a season. A good amount of the freshmen were brought in to address the team's attack as it looks to reverse a trend of being unable to find the net.
