
Men Tally 21 Points in Big Second Day at MACs

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Miami University track & field's men's team gathered 21 points to stay in fifth while the women's team added seven to their total to solidify a sixth-place standing going into Saturday.
Two-thirds of the men's points Friday came in the men's steeplechase, where Miami grabbed two of the top three spots. In just his third-career steeple, Christopher Torpy placed second with a PR 9:02.38 to pick up eight points for the RedHawks. He was followed closely by Jake Brumfield, whose 9:03.09 was good for third place and six points.

Miami also gained points in the women's steeple. Crossing in 10:15.06, Alesha Vovk grabbed six points for the 'Hawks. The time was a new personal best for the senior.

On the field side, points were earned in both the men's shot put and men's long jump. On the throws side, Nate Trawick landed a 52-8.75 to grab three points for Miami. In just his third meet since joining the team after spring football, Trawick set a personal best.

The other field points game thanks to Kenny Glenn in the long jump. His 23-9 was worth sixth place and three points.
Throughout the day, Miami also had seven more 'Hawks gain entry into championship races set to be completed Saturday. Tomorrow's events are set to get started at 11 a.m. with the finals of the men's triple jump and women's high jump. Live results will be available here.
