Boule, Emerson Named MAC Outdoor Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND-- The Mid-American Conference announced its track and field athletes of the week today, with Miami sweeping the women's awards. RedHawk junior Mia Boule was named field athlete of the week and senior Avery Emerson was named runner of the week.Â
Boule placed second in the pole vault event at the IU Billy Hayes invite last weekend with a vault of 4.20m. This vault is the Miami school record, the leading mark in the MAC and 44th-best vault in the nation.Â
Emerson took third place in the 800m invite event at the IU Billy Hayes Invite. Her 2:06.16 time is among the top three fastest times ever for a RedHawk and second in the MAC this season.Â
The RedHawks compete at the MAC Championships this weekend from May 14-16 in Muncie, Ind.
