OXFORD, Ohio -- The Miami baseball team was firing on all cylinders as it cruised to a 7-0 win over Bowling Green on Friday at McKie Field at Hayden Park. The victory moved the Red & White's record to 16-9 (5-2 MAC) on the year while the Falcons fell to 8-20 (3-4 MAC).

In a day that featured just one extra-base hit between the two sides, Miami outhit Bowling Green, 14-5. Spencer Mraz, Andy Almquist, Kyle Wade and Jay Wilson combined to collect the Red & White's third shutout of the season. Mraz, who got the start, went a career-high seven scoreless innings and notched four strikeouts while walking none. He also improved his record to 3-0 on the year.

Both teams got a pair of runners on in the top of the first but only the RedHawks were able to take advantage. Dallas Hall singled to center field to lead off the bottom of the first. Then, following two quick outs, Hayden Senger reached on a hit by pitch before a Parker Massman single through the right side brought Hall around third and in to score. Miami exited the opening frame with a 1-0 advantage.

The `Hawks added another single tally in the home half of the third. Ross Haffey led off the inning with a single and later went first to third on a Senger base hit. Up to bat came Massman, who delivered again with a single to center, which allowed Haffey to score easily.

Miami tacked on two more in the sixth. Will Vogelgesang got things started with a one-out double off of the wall in left before Adrian Texidor brought him in to score with a single up the middle. Following a Hall base hit that put runners on the corners, Haffey went the other way for a one-run single to right, plating Texidor. The two runs pushed the lead to 4-0.

For good measure, Miami added three more runs in the seventh. With the bases juiced, Kyle Winkler came through with a two-out, two-run single up the middle that scored Mackay Williams and Will Vogelgesang. Hall capped the scoring with another one-run single that brought home Texidor.

The RedHawks and Falcons return to action Saturday at 2 p.m. This is a change from the originally scheduled 4 p.m. time. This is due to lower temperatures forecasted for the latter part of the day.
