NASHVILLE - Miami University track & field concluded their first day at Vanderbilt on Friday. It was highlighted by a near season-best distance medley performance on the women's side that placed them fourth.
That DMR squad - which consisted of Elli Brady, Rachel Kotchman, Claire Linn, Morgan Rice, and Alesha Vovk - put up an 11:59.53. They still rank second in the Mid-American Conference thanks to their 11:52.35 at last month's Indiana Relays.
Running in the men's DMR, the squad of Peter Cooke, Aaron Muresan, Christopher Torpy, Mitchell Towne, and Sean Torpy, took second. After a good start by Chris, the RedHawks fell behind in the middle of the race. However, thanks to solid legs by Muresan and Towne, combined with a ferocious comeback by closer Sean, Miami sealed a second-place finish. The time ranks them 22nd in the country.
The men's DMR time of 9:51.64 places them second and lands them in the top-25 in the country!#RiseUpRedHawks
