LAST TIME OUT: The RedHawks were handed just their second loss of the season on Sunday in a back-and-forth game at Florida A&M. The game-winning shot for the Rattlers fell through with just six seconds left to play as the 'Hawks were edged out 56-57.
Kendall McCoy led the Miami offense with 16 points, tying her season-best, while
Nia Clark and
Savannah Kluesner each contributed 14.
ABOUT JACKSONVILLE STATE: The Gamecocks come into the contest with a 6-3 record, most recently beating Georgia State on Saturday in overtime by a 61-56 margin. Jacksonville State is currently on a four-game win streak. Destiney Elliott and Rayven Pearson lead the Gamecocks offense with 13.1 and 10.2 points per game, respectively. Elliott also leads JSU's squad with 41 field goals, 20 three-pointers and 15 steals. She is second on the team with 21 assists. Pearson leads the Gamecocks with 8.8 rebounds per game, 15 blocks and a .507 field goal percentage.
SERIES WITH THE GAMECOCKS: Miami earns the victory in the only previous meeting between the two teams. Last season, the RedHawks beat the Gamecocks by a 58-55 margin.
