Miami placed second at the Dr. Porter Classic.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Following a solid opening night, the Miami senior synchronized skating team closed the Dr. Richard Porter Classic on Saturday night.
The RedHawks roared to the finish with a season-high free skate score of 120.38, ending with a combined score of 187.54 that finished second at the meet to the Skyliners. The score dwarfs every score the team put up last season, nearly five points ahead of last year's national championship meet score.
"We had a really strong skate overall tonight," head coach Carla DeGirolamo said. "We improved our score from Anaheim in the free skate. We're excited to get back to work with a lot of time to train and perfect before international season starts next month."
Miami has one more day remaining in this meet's schedule as the collegiate team skates on Sunday afternoon at approximately 12:25 p.m.
