11/2/2018 8:05:00 PM | Synchronized Skating
The RedHawks debuted with a 59.88 short program score at the Diamond Classic.
MENTOR, Ohio – Miami University's senior synchronized skating team displayed its new short program with a bang at the season opening Diamond Classic on Friday evening.
The RedHawks' short program, a Destiny's Child remix, earned a score of 59.88 on the first day of competition. Friday's short program score is more than eight points better than the score it posted at this same meet last season and scored ahead of all but two of its competitions from the 2017-18 campaign. That puts the Red and White ahead of the Crystallettes, who scored a 48.93.
This weekend's meet concludes on Saturday with the RedHawks' senior and collegiate teams performing their free skates. Competition resumes at 10:30 a.m.
