OXFORD, Ohio – With the competition schedule starting next week, Miami's synchronized skating team showcases its full program to the fans at its fall kick-off exhibition on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday's performance begins at 2 p.m. and fans can see it for free at Steve 'Coach' Cady Arena. The RedHawks are also hosting their Family Weekend in conjunction with Saturday's display on the ice.
The RedHawks open up the afternoon with the collegiate team showcasing their free skate, which is a Glam theme this year. Following that, the senior team takes the ice and runs through its short program, a Destiny's Child remix. Following some guest performances, the collegiate team goes through its free skate one more time and the senior team does its free skate as well, which is a Tango theme performed by various artists.
Both teams look to climb up the national standings after placing third at last year's US National Synchronized Skating Championships. The RedHawks begin the 2018-19 campaign with a trip to Mentor, Ohio for the Diamond Classic Nov. 2-3. MU's domestic competition schedule is finalized and the senior team's international schedule is expected to be finished in November.
