Soccer Treks to Michigan for MAC Contests

Miami takes on Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan this weekend.

OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University soccer begins a three-match stretch on the road when it heads to Michigan this weekend.

The RedHawks (3-11-1, 1-7 Mid-American) head to Eastern Michigan for a Thursday afternoon (4 p.m.) showdown and finish the weekend at Central Michigan on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Miami dropped a pair of one-goal decisions in its final home contests of the season last weekend. The Red & White outshot Buffalo 10-9 last Friday, but fell by a 1-0 decision. MU then answered a second-half goal against Akron, but a late Zips goal sent it to a 2-1 setback in Sunday's Senior Day outing. Lyda Bogdanovitch still leads MU offensively in goals (5), points (10) shots (40) and shots on goal (20) while Lauren Parker has played the last five contests (four starts) in goal with a 1.90 goals against average and .786 save percentage.

Eastern Michigan (8-9, 3-5 MAC) has lost four of its past five contests, all by one goal with two overtime defeats in that span. Offensively, Sabrina McNeill (5 goals, 5 assists) and Kristin Nason (6 goals, 3 assists) are tied for the team lead with 15 points apiece. Kaylin Williams has started 12 of the Eagles' 17 matches in goal and holds a 1.31 goals against average, .795 save percentage and posted three solo shutouts.

The Chippewas (6-10, 4-4 MAC) are 2-4 since winning their first two conference matches, dropping a 2-1 decision to last-place Northern Illinois last Sunday. CMU holds the final MAC Tournament spot with 12 points. Lexi Pelafas leads Central Michigan with eight goals and 19 points while the time in net has been split between Brianna Wallbridge (1.23 GAA, .700 save%) and Morgan Brittain (2.13 GAA, .653 save%).

Live stats will be provided by the host schools in both contests this week. Sunday's tilt at Central Michigan also features a live video stream.

All-Time Series:
Miami is 13-10-2 all-time against Eastern Michigan and 11-14-2 against Central Michigan. The RedHawks topped both teams in overtime last year, topping EMU 3-2 and CMU 2-1.

The Kids Can Play: With 13 true freshmen on the roster of 27, Miami has obviously relied heavily on the new kids this season. That has born out in the Red & White's production as nine of the team's 15 goals and 28 of its 46 points have come from freshmen.
