OXFORD, Ohio - Despite having a season-high five players in double figures, the Miami University women's basketball team was unable to overcome a first quarter scoring spurt, falling 84-66, to Central Michigan University Saturday afternoon.
The loss broke a six-game home winning streak to begin the season for the RedHawks (9-5, 1-2 MAC) and was the first for any Miami basketball team this season at Millett Hall.
Junior forward Kendall McCoy led Miami scorers with 18 points off the bench, tying her season-best total. With 13 points, sophomore guard Lauren Dickerson extended her streak of consecutive double-figures scoring efforts to 25, continuing a streak from the 2016-17 campaign. Redshirt junior guard Baleigh Reid, sophomore forward Savannah Kluesner and senior guard Kayla Brown also broke double-digits with ten points each. Elsewhere on the stat sheet, Dickerson led with eight assists, while Reid grabbed seven rebounds.
