ZIONSVILLE, Ind. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃÆ'¢'¬" Buoyed by a pair of strong individual performances, the Miami University golf team finds itself in fourth place after one round of the season opening Wolf Run Intercollegiate on Friday. The RedHawks shot a team score of six-over par 290 and are only six shots out of the lead which is held by Kentucky at even par.
Redshirt junior Brian Ohr had the best round of his collegiate career. He shot a five-under par 66. He leads all other golfers by four shots.
Senior Patrick Flavin shot a one-under par 70 on Friday. He finds himself in a group of seven golfers who are tied for second four shots behind Ohr.
Freshman Charlie Nikitas opened his collegiate career with a four-over par 75. He is tied for 29th. Sophomore Cam Solomon is tied for 63rd at eight-over par after shooting a 79, while freshman Jack Mortell is tied for 75th after shooting an 81.
Playing as an individual, freshman Jack Herceg shot a seven-over par 78 and is tied for 52nd.
The Wolf Run Intercollegiate continues with the second round on Saturday. The RedHawks will tee off beginning at 9:45 a.m.
