Miami Leads After One Round at Louisville

SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. - After a strong performance on Friday, the Miami University golf team is in first place after one round at the Louisville Cardinal Challenge. The RedHawks shot a team score of four-under par 284 to take the top spot going into Saturday. They hold a two shot lead over host Louisville, who is in second place at two-under par.
Finding himself in the individual lead, senior Patrick Flavin had the best round of the day for Miami with a four-under par 68. He finds himself in a group of three other golfers who are tied for first.
Freshman Charlie Nikitas is tied for sixth after shooting a one-under par 71. Freshman Jack Herceg shot an even-par 72. He is currently in a group of seven golfers tied for the 10th spot. Right behind him is sophomore Cam Solomon, who is tied for 17th after shooting a one-over par round of 73. Senior Brian Ohr is tied for 42nd at four-over par after shooting a 76.
Playing as an individual, freshman Jack Mortell shot a two-over par round of 74, putting him at a tie for 29th in the standings. Making his college debut and playing as an individual, freshman Jack Katarincic shot nine-over par 81. He is currently tied for 77th.
The Louisville Cardinal Challenge continues with round two on Saturday. The RedHawks will tee off beginning at 10:40 a.m.
