Golf Finishes Second at Wolf Run Intercollegiate

ZIONSVILLE, Ind.- The Miami University golf team shot a final round of 11-over par 295 on Sunday to finish at 26-over par and in second place at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate. Kentucky won the tournament, finishing at 20-over par.
The RedHawks had the top two individuals with senior Patrick Flavin earning his fifth career college win, shooting a two-under par 69. He ended the tournament with a final score of two-under par. Redshirt junior Brian Ohr was right behind, shooting one-over par 72, finishing at one-under par and alone in second place.
Freshman Charlie Nikitas shot a three-over par round of 74. Nikitas finished the final round at nine-over par to tie for 16th place. Playing as an individual, Freshman Jack Herceg shot a round of five-over par 76 today, completing the tournament 45th in the standings. Herceg finished the tournament at 19-over par.
Sophomore Cam Solomon tallied a 10-over par 81 in the final round to finish the tournament at 21-over par and tied for 56th, while freshman Jack Mortell shot an 80 on Sunday and finished tied for 78th at 29-over par.
"Overall I was really proud about how the guys competed," said head coach Zac Zedrick. "You always want to be coming down the last nine holes competing with a chance for victory. It was awesome to have Pat and Brian finish in the top two spots."
Miami returns to action Sept. 18-19 when it competes in the Inverness Intertercollegiate in Toledo, Ohio.
