With runners on first and third, a double by sophomore first baseman Johniann Wahl scored sophomore shortstop Michaela Schlattman. A dropped pop fly allowed junior third baseman Kat Lee to score and tied the game at two. One batter later, senior second baseman Eryn McCarver singled to left center to bring home Wahl. After a base hit from freshman outfielder Haeley Tran, senior outfielder Jenna Jones singled up the middle to score McCarver and Gliha and make it 5-2.
It stayed that way until the top of the fifth when the Rockets scored three runs to tie the score at five. Senior pitcher Kelsey Fredericks came in and was able to shut down Toledo the rest of the way.
In the bottom of the fifth, Lee led off with a double. After the Rockets recorded two outs, a double from senior catcher Lauren Anderson broke the tie and put Miami back in front. One batter later, Tran singled up the middle to score freshman Hannah Obrey and make it 7-5.
The Red and White completed their scoring with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Schlattman scored on a wild pitch. Wahl then drove home junior outfielder Megan Wurts on a sacrifice fly.
Fredericks retired the Rockets in order in the top of the seventh to finish off the 9-5 victory and earn her eighth win of the season. She allowed no runs on two hits in 3.0 innings pitched.
Jones finished the game 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Tran was 2-for-2 with one RBI. McCarver went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored.
