NASHPORT, Ohio ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃÆ'¢'¬" The Miami University golf team finds itself in fifth place after two rounds at the Mid-American Conference Championship on Friday. The RedHawks shot a round of 296 in the morning and 301 in the afternoon to stand at 21-over par. Kent State leads the tournament at one-under par.
Junior Patrick Flavin had the best individual performance on the day for the Red and White. He shots a round of 69 in the morning and followed it up with 71 in the afternoon to find himself tied for third at four-under par. He is only two shots behind the individual co-leaders, Gisli Sveinbergsson of Kent State and Johnny Watts of Ball State, who are each six-under par.
Redshirt sophomore Brian Ohr opened with a two-over par 74 and followed it up with a 77 in the second round. He is tied for 18th at seven-over par.
After rounds of 74 and 79, senior Greg Conrad is tied for 25th at nine-over par. Freshman Cam Solomon is right behind in a tie for 29th at 10-over par. JD Fletcher is 45th at 19-over par.
The MAC Championship continues Saturday with the third round. The RedHawks will tee off between 11:20 am and noon.
