Harris was Miami's most consistent offensive force this past week as he hit at a .500 clip in five starts for the RedHawks. The Springdale, Ark., native posted a team-high five runs and 10 hits while adding one double, a home run and four runs batted in. He also earned an on-base percentage of .545 while slugging .700. Harris tallied four multi-hit games on the week, three of which came at Ohio on the weekend. Overall, he went 7-for-12 (.583) against the Bobcats, raising his MAC batting average to a team-best .385 on the year.
This is the first time this season and in his career that Harris has been named Miami's Male Athlete of the Week.
Szekely picked up her first victory of the year last weekend when she recorded a personal-best 191-11.5 in the women's hammer throw at the Virginia Challenge. The win also counts as the first of her career in the event. She currently ranks third in the Mid-American Conference in the hammer throw and moved up to 37th in the region.
This is the first time this season and in her career that Szekely has been named Miami's Female Athlete of the Week.
