LEXINGTON, Ky. - The RedHawk baseball team dropped their series finale at Kentucky, 14-2, on Sunday at Cliff Hagan Stadium. The defeat put Miami's record at 3-10 on the year while the Wildcats moved to 11-6.
Kentucky jumped out to an early lead with a three-run homer in the first inning and a two-run shot in the second.
The Red & White answered in the top of the third. With one out, Steve Sada reached on an error before a Dallas Hall two-run blast cut the deficit to 5-2. The round-tripper was the first of Hall's career.
Unfortunately, that was as tight as the game would get as UK scored in all but one inning the rest of the way to seal the win.
RedHawk starter Brad Schwartz was labeled with the loss and fell to 1-1 on the year. On the other side, Kentucky starter Justin Lewis grabbed the victory and now owns a 2-1 record in 2017.
