Conrad and Ohr share the Male Athlete of the Week honor after both finishing 3-0 at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play last week. Conrad's 4&3 and Ohr's 5&4 victory in the first round of the tournament led eight-seed Miami to knock off top-seed Eastern Michigan in a 4-2 win. In the second round against Seton Hall Conrad secured a 2-up win, while Ohr won his match 1-up. This helped the RedHawks come all square against four-seed Seton Hall, only to lose on tiebreaker rules. In the final round Conrad came up big with a 3&2 win against third-seed Ball State. Ohr completed his perfect match performance with a 2-up win, contributing to the RedHawks dominating 5-1 win against MAC rival Ball State. For their performances, they shared MAC Co-Golfer of the Week honors.
This is the first time this season Conrad has been named Miami's Male Athlete of the Week, while it is the second time Ohr has won the honor. He previously got it for the week of Sept. 27-Oct. 2.
Wahl was Miami's leading hitter last weekend at WKU, finishing with a .500 batting average (5-for-10). She had two doubles and two home runs for an impressive slugging percentage of 1.300. She also drew three walks for an on-base percentage of .615. Wahl recorded a home run in the 4-3 win over Western Illinois on Saturday. She finished 2-for-3 with another home run against Western Kentucky in the nightcap that day. On Sunday, Wahl had a pair of hits and an RBI as the RedHawks went 1-1 on the day.
This is the first time this season and in her career that Wahl has been named Miami's Female Athlete of the Week.
The next Miami Athletes of the Week will be announced on Monday, Feb. 27.
