Volleyball
Last Week: Miami (10-7 overall, 2-2 MAC) split its two league matches on the road last weekend. The match between the Miami and its rival Ohio went back-and-forth throughout, but the RedHawks ultimately came up two points short as they fell 2-3 (25-21, 22-25, 16-25, 25-17, 13-15) Friday evening. (RECAP) Recording a season-high 20 blocks, Miami earned a hard-fought 3-2 (25-19, 21-25, 32-30, 21-25, 15-6) victory over Kent State Saturday evening. Senior middle hitter Meredith Stutz set a new school record with six solo blocks among her 13 total blocks. (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks are home for a pair of matches for Family Weekend. On Thursday, Miami hosts Buffalo at 7 p.m. That match will air live on ESPN3. On Friday, the Red and White take on Akron at 7 p.m. That contest will air on MiamiRedHawks.com for those who have a subscription.
Soccer
Last Week: The RedHawks (0-10-1, 0-3-1 MAC) continued conference play with a pair of home matches. Miami began the weekend by hosting defending MAC Tournament champion Kent State and while it shored things up more defensively from opening weekend, dropped a 1-0 decision on a second-half KSU goal (RECAP). MU concluded the weekend with Senior Day and a celebration of retired head coach Bobby Kramig's career before taking on rival Ohio. The RedHawks put together their first shutout of the season with Patricia Koutoulas making six saves to help Miami gain a point in the MAC standings with a 0-0 tie (RECAP). This Week: Miami has a short time to prepare for a trip to Northern Illinois on Thursday before returning home to face Western Michigan on Sunday.

Field Hockey
Last Week: Miami (5-6 overall, 3-0 MAC) traveled to MAC-rival Kent State and won a hard-fought battle 1-0. The only goal of the game came from the stick of junior midfielder/forward Paula Portugal on a penalty corner feed from Estel Roig. This is Portugal's ninth goal and third game-winning goal of the season. This goal moves Portugal to fifth place on the all-time points list, passing former All-American Bea Dechant. Junior goalkeeper Maddie Passarella tallied seven saves in goal, all in the second half of play. This is her third shutout of the season. (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks host their first conference game of the season against Longwood on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Golf
Last Week: Senior Patrick Flavin earned his sixth career collegiate victory and second in three tournaments this season by shooting nine-under par to win the Louisville Cardinal Challenge. As a team, Miami took second out of 13 teams, finishing behind only the host Louisville. (Friday Recap) (Saturday Recap) (Sunday Recap) This Week: The RedHawks travel to Skokie, Illinois to compete in the Windon Memorial Classic. That tournament begins with two rounds on Sunday.
Tennis
Last Week: Miami opened up its fall season with the Miami Invitational. Louisville, Purdue, and Xavier travelled to Oxford for the four-team, three-day tournament where players competed in individual singles and doubles matches. Several RedHawks doubles teams earned impressive victories, including Ponomareva/Vasiukhina, Kalita/Lysova, and Myers/Struble. On the singles side of the tournament, Miami winners included freshmen Makenzie Myers (two matches), Melati Devi (two), Milana Lysova, Lena Babunski, and junior Emily Struble. (Friday Recap) (Saturday Recap) (Sunday Recap) This Week: The RedHawks will have a week off before travelling to Murfreesboro, Tenn. for the ITA Ohio Valley Regional from Oct. 12-16.

Last Week: Miami dropped a 52-17 decision last Saturday at No. 22 Notre Dame (RECAP). This Week: The RedHawks host Bowling Green at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7.
