Sherwood was front and center during Miami's third period comeback at No. 9/10 Ohio State. In a 3-3 tie, Sherwood netted two goals 53 seconds apart to put Miami in front for the first time in an eventual 6-3 win over the Buckeyes to give MU its second-straight comeback win. Those goals give him 20 points on the season, two more than his season total from his freshman campaign and a total that is one off the team lead.
This is the third time this season and in his career that Sherwood has been named Miami's Male Athlete of the Week. He previously won it for the week of Dec. 5-11.
Dickerson began last week by posting ten points in a win over Cedarville, her ninth-straight game in double figures. She also dished out five assists and played a team-high 31 minutes. Sunday's MAC opener at Buffalo saw Dickerson put up seven points and play a team-high 27 minutes. The freshman continues to lead the Red & White in scoring (15.1 ppg), minutes played (29.7 mpg), assists (3.4 apg) and total steals (25).
This is the third time this season and in her career that Dickerson has been named Miami's Female Athlete of the Week. She previously won it for the week of Dec. 5-11.
The next Miami Athletes of the Week will be announced on Monday, Jan. 9.
