Louis tied for the team lead with three points in a weekend split at North Dakota. The senior winger started the RedHawks' third period comeback with a goal 32 seconds into the third period and also added a primary helper on the final goal of a 6-3 win. Louis then scored again on Saturday to even the score at 1-1 at the time, giving him a career-high 13 goals this year along with 28 points, which surpasses last year's team-high total of 26.
This is the first time this season and fourth time in his career that Louis has been named Miami's Male Athlete of the Week. He last won it for the week of Feb. 15-21, 2016.
Dickerson did a little bit of everything for the RedHawks this past week. Not only did she average a team-high 15.5 points per game, she also led Miami in minutes played (36.0 mpg), rebounds (6.0 rpg), assists (6.5 apg), steals (3.0 spg) and total free throws made (10). In a win over Eastern Michigan on Wednesday, the freshman guard flirted with a triple-double by putting up 11 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Her eight helpers tied a career-high, a mark she has now hit four times this season. Saturday against Buffalo, the Indianapolis, Ind., native reached the 20-point plateau for the fifth time this season while also contributing five rebounds, five assists, three steals and a 6-of-7 performance at the charity stripe.
This is the fourth time this season and in her career that Dickerson has been named Miami's Female Athlete of the Week. She last won it for the week of Dec. 26-Jan. 1.
The next Miami Athletes of the Week will be announced on Monday, Jan. 23.
