Volleyball
Last Week: Miami (10-4 overall; 2-0 MAC) upped its winning streak to nine matches by opening MAC play with a pair of 3-0 victories last week. The RedHawks got off to a great start as they took a 3-0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-22) victory over Bowling Green on the road Thursday. (RECAP) Miami ran its winning streak to nine consecutive matches with a strong 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-16) victory over Western Michigan on Saturday afternoon. (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks return home for a pair of MAC contests as part of Family Weekend. On Thursday, Miami hosts Ohio at 7 p.m. On Friday, the RedHawks welcome Kent State to Millett Hall for a 7 p.m. match. Both contests will air live on ESPN3.
Soccer
Last Week: Miami (4-4-1, 1-0-1 MAC) snagged four out of six possible points on the opening weekend of MAC play with a pair of shutout performances. On Friday, the RedHawks fired a season-high 16 shots while allowing just nine in a conference-opening 0-0 tie with Akron. Vic Maniaci turned aside five shots as Miami more or less controlled play throughout, but could not find the back of the net. (RECAP) Maniaci was superb again against Buffalo on Sunday as she stopped all seven shots she faced, some of which were in spectacular acrobatic fashion, to make Olivia Winnett's 13th-minute goal stand up as the game winner in a Senior Day shutout. The two shutouts this weekend for Maniaci give her 22 career solo shutouts, one shy of the program record. (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks head north for a pair of MAC matches in Michigan, squaring off against Central Michigan on Friday and Eastern Michigan on Sunday.
Field Hockey
Last Week: Miami (5-5 overall; 1-0 MAC) earned a pair of shutouts this week.
