Sayler to be Inducted Into High School Hall of Fame

Miami University Athletics Director David Sayler will be inducted into the Miami Valley High School Hall of Fame on September 24. Sayler, a three-sport student-athlete at MVS, graduated back in 1987 and earned his school's Male Athlete of the Year as a senior.
Nicknamed the "Garbage Man" for his ability to clean up goals on the soccer field, Sayler finished his stellar career with 35 goals, a record at the time of his graduation. His team also advanced to the third round of the state tournament in '87.
Sayler, also a star on the baseball field, earned three varsity letters while batting cleanup and playing center field. As a senior he hit .325 and led his team in both home runs and RBIs.
Finally, on the hardwood, Sayler and his team advanced to the second round of the state tournament his senior season. His school's starting shooting guard, Sayler averaged double figures as a junior and senior and earned three letters for the basketball team.
Sayler will officially be inducted into the MVS High School Hall of Fame at the Lofino Athletic Center at 7 p.m.
